AeroGarden ULTRA #Review
Not having much of a green thumb, I have been thinking of giving gardening a try for some time now. My few attempts in the past have come with mixed results, some good, some bad.
I have always wanted to grow my own herbs for use in my cooking and recipes, and the cost of them at the local grocer can get expensive. I have also wasted so many herbs that I have purchased, as I cannot use them fast enough when store bought. When I was given the chance to review the AeroGarden ULTRA, I was excited. I am now able to grow as much or as little as I need in the comfort and ease of my own home.
Having the option of growing up to 7 different plants at once, the AeroGarden ULTRA has allowed me to start my venture into gardening more and I am actively growing my own herbs. I opted for Dill, Cilantro and Parsley. I must say, I have somewhat of an indoor green-thumb. They are growing quite rapidly and full, fresh and green. Feeding it a simple pack of nutrients ever so often has given them the nourishment and feed they need to grow lively and full.

This sounds like something I could really use! I don’t have a lot of time or patience with a garden, and our growing season in Minnesota is entirely too short (we’re in the middle of yet another snowstorm as I type). If I plant anything, it doesn’t go in the ground until after Memorial Day. I’ve tried starting plants inside with those little peat pots or plastic trays and they are messy and a pain. This would be wonderful!
I am a novice gardener, just the thought of having fresh herbs or cherry tomatoes, my LO’s fav, year round would be a gift. My LO loves plants she is now 5 and this would be perfect for us. You mentioned the savings, I can’t agree more, the cost is out of control these days.

This is a very convenient growing machine for the deck.
I grew up on the Central Coast of California where growing season is practically all year, but now I live in Nebraska where the growing season is considerably shorter. I’d love an AeroGarden to allow me to have some fresh produce and herbs even when it’s cold and yucky outside!!
I have read about these and thought about getting one for ages. This makes me want one even more! The fact that I could grow my fresh herbs inside year round is something I would love!
I love that you can grow 7 different plants at once since I have no place to grow a garden and have really been wanting to. This would be great for a lot of people who don’t have an outdoor space.
I had one of their earlier versions of the Aerogarden, which was smaller, but it still really produced incredible results! Everything you’ve listed is quite accurate about its features and its production- it is incredible how quickly you get great plants, that you can either leave in the unit, or plant out in your garden, and it’s great for starting all kinds of plants. A really great plus to the unit is that it keeps track of light cycles, and lets you know when you need to fertilize the plants, so it’s really great for busy people that can’t baby their plants!!!!!

I have never heard of Aero Garden before but your review is great and has convinced me that this is just what I need at my house to produce the best herbs and tomatoes I need. I love the way the cherry tomatoes look, I would have never thought you could plant up to seven different types of plants in this little garden. This is exactly what I have been looking for! Since moving into an apartment, i have not been able to garden like I love too. I miss gardening, and am longing to get my hands dirty! I would love to be able to grow fresh herbs to use in cooking, and grow some lavender for aromatherapy purposes. This would be ideal for that!
The Aerogarden sounds awesome! I would love to be able to plant some tomatoes, catnip, mint, parsley, romaine lettuce, and a flower of some sort. This would be great for me since Im not all that familiar with gardening but would love to do so!
I live in Minnesota where there is a new Season: Sprinter. 🙁 There is still so much snow on the ground it feels like I will never get anything planted!!!! I would love to have one of these indoors in my kitchen!!!!

I love your review! I have always wanted an Aerogarden but could never quite justify the expense of one. I love fresh herbs but have failed miserably at growing them (and most other plants) so this would be great to have.

The seven compartments would allow you to grow herbs at different stages so that you wouldn’t have to worry about them getting too leggy. Looks like a wonderful kitchen garden.

I so would love to try this. We live in a kitchenette right now and have no lawn and can t plant stuff in pots as silly neighbors think pots are for cigarette butts. So, this would be perfect for me to grow my herbs and maybe a grape tomato plant. I like the simplicity of how it works and am anxious to see how it is going to perform.

I have been thinking about getting in to gardening for quite some time now but I have never tried to grow anything besides the plant they make you grow in elementary school. I live on th e ground floor apt and there no where to grow anything, so will help and others like me with limited space or no space at all. I see you can grow other plants beside herbs, maybe I can grow mint too

7 pods?! that sounds great! I was thinking the same 3 herbs for the same reasons, but what did you plant in the other pods? Maybe spinach… either way, the convenience of having fresh herbs/produce right in the kitchen is ALWAYS a plus!!

It sounds like it’s pretty brain-free. Are the lights LED or just some type of CFL? Does it say how much electricity it uses? I try to monitor my electricity usage so the timer would work out well. I have some grow lights in my shed but I have to adjust the timer often because we don’t always have extra power with solar. Does it come with the added nutrients or do we add our own? Also I am curious, it has 7 available spots but can all 7 be used with the herbs you are using? Sorry to question so much, have never had the chance to really research the Aerogarden but it looks like it would be really happy right next to my kitchen sink! Thanks, Pam

I have been wanting one for a while now. I’d love to grow cilantro, basil, cherry tomatoes, and some romaine lettuce. I wonder if it does good with strawberries? I think the idea is wonderful. I have a raised bed on my patio but a back injury has kept me from planting anything. Thanks for the giveaway!

Great review, it makes me want one of these even more. I love to cook with fresh herbs but the ones at the grocery store go bad so quickly you can rarely get your moneys worth before having to throw out half the container. I would love to have fresh herbs available anytime!

Hi. This looks really cool, and I’m seriously considering something like it, so I have a question about the Aerogarden in particular. Did you have any problems with bugs or mold when you used it? Every time I try to grow herbs indoors (or at all since I haven’t tried it outdoors), I get mold and fruit flies. I’m assuming I am keeping it too moist. Maybe the light helps with that?
Also, does the light get super hot? Did you feel safe leaving it on all the time?

Due to health reason I am unable to do a lot of outside gardening ,, this sound like something i could care for easily
I do a fairly big garden outside and try to add new veggies to it every year or so… but i don’t have any kind of herb garden. I have been opting for using more natural ingredients and trying interject flavor into our meals with herbs and spices so I would love to have them right at my fingertips!
