Help HopeLine Reach 1 Million Donated Phones To Support Domestic Violence Victims in 2015

HopeLine from Verizon

Domestic violence is a problem that impacts our homes, our neighbors, our communities and more.  Domestic Violence does not discriminate. It happens to all walks of life. Men, women, rich or poor, many around our country are victims of domestic violence. Her are a few statistics that show just how rampant domestic violence is:

  • 1 in 4 women will experience domestic violence during her lifetime.[iii]
  • Men are the victims of nearly 3 million physical assaults in the U.S. [iii]
  • On a typical day, more than 20,000 phone calls are placed to domestic violence hotlines nationwide. [ii]
  • More than 3 million children witness domestic violence in their homes each year. [iii]

HopeLine is an amazing organization that provides financial support to non-profit domestic violence organizations and agencies that are committed to connecting victims and survivors to vital and helpful resources. Verizon has a longstanding commitment to raise domestic violence awareness and prevention, and is made possible with their HopeLine program.

How does HopeLine work?

HopeLine provides ways for individuals to take action against domestic violence by donating no-longer-used wireless phones and accessories in any condition from any service provider. Verizon turns these resources into support for domestic violence organizations and programs nationwide.

Since its launch in October 2001, HopeLine has donated hundreds of thousands of phones and awarded millions of dollars in cash grants to non-profit organizations and agencies.

Verizon is committed to helping the 1 in 3 women, 1 in 4 men and more than 3 million children in the United States impacted by domestic violence.

Verizon supports the efforts of domestic violence organizations and agencies to prevent domestic violence, educate communities on cultivating healthy relationships and empower victims and survivors with resources and tools to rebuild and succeed. Through HopeLine, they aim to prevent, educate and empower!

Verizon has donated millions of wireless phones through the HopeLine program, complete with minutes and text messaging, to domestic violence shelters and non-profit organizations for use by victims and survivors. YOU CAN HELP!

How YOU CAN HELP!

HopeLine collects no-longer used wireless phones, batteries, chargers and accessories in any condition from any service provider to benefit victims and survivors of domestic violence.
