If you want to look like a fashionista, you definitely don’t need to break the bank by going over your budget and spending all of your hard-earned cash on the latest fashion and accessories at the most expensive designer shops. Instead, there are many frugal ways to look your best and stick to your budget all at the same time, while still following the latest and greatest trends.

Check out the tips below if you’re looking for great ways to stay in vogue without overspending.

First, Create a Budget and Stick to It

Before you even head out to the stores to buy a whole new wardrobe or add to your existing closet, it’s important that you set a budget that works with your current financial situation. Calculate exactly how much you can spend on this season’s hottest trends, from flared pants to dolman sleeve tops, and then write this number down and stick to it as you go shopping. Make it a point to not go over your budget. This requires discipline, but it’s a must.

Don’t Shop Designer

There are many retail locations and discount shops that you can venture into to search for the latest fashion trends at much more affordable prices than what you’d spend in designer shops. So while you may be tempted to buy a Gucci dress that you saw on the runway or a Coach bag, your best bet is to find items that are similar—this is a lot easier to do than you think—and purchase those. After all, trends come and go, so why break the bank just to say you bought a designer item only to no longer wear it when the season has passed and other trends take over?

Buy Multiple Fashion Accessories

If you’re able to find a variety of fashion accessories that you love, pick them up in various seasonal colors. Your investment today will pay itself back when you’re able to use these accessories this season and the next. Besides, having these staple accessories means you can upgrade any wardrobe instantly so you can wear the same outfit twice but still look different.

Compare Prices, Use Coupons, Shop Online

There are many ways to save money on the latest fashions. For example, you can start by shopping online, as there are many fashion stores that are only found on the internet, and there are also websites for the most popular retail locations as well. Shopping online can save you time and money, especially when you compare prices to find the best deal and when you snag great coupon codes for even deeper discounts.

But even if you don’t want to shop for clothing online, make sure you look for deals from retail stores that offer coupon codes and discounts to frequent shoppers, and make it a point to compare prices on similar items from one store to the other.

Ultimately, if you want to always look your best with the latest fashion, just make sure that you shop smart so you don’t overspend.
