History

Herb Kohler, Kohler Co. CEO & Chairman, believed the world deserved a better turtle. Chefs of The American Club® produced over 100 batches, and from this he discovered a terrapin that met demanding requirements. In 2007 KOHLER Original Recipe Chocolates was born.

By exploring limitless opportunity in taste and texture while honoring a single level of quality, we present the definitive chocolate experience – KOHLER Original Recipe Chocolates.

Mr. Kohler believed the world needed a better turtle (nuts, chocolate and caramel) and he tasked the chefs to make him one. And that’s what started this delicious company known as KOHLER Original Recipe Chocolates.

KOHLER? As in bathroom fixtures, sinks, and other products for your home? Yes, the same one; or at least, an offshoot of that company!

Review

After meeting with KOHLER Original Recipe Chocolates at the Summer Fancy Food Show in NYC and getting to try their products personally, I was hooked. I loved getting to meet with Anette Righi DeFendi and listen to her talk about the company, their products, and even have a live Periscope chat with the “home kitchen” as we learned more about them. I also received one of their new products for this year’s holiday season: Holiday Caramel Collection.

Each artistic chocolate is airbrushed with seasonal hues of silver, gold, red and green creating a festive shimmering sheen to mimic the flow of poured caramel.

·Silver: Sea Salt Caramel is a dark smoky caramel infused with a light taste of sea salt

·Gold: Traditional and savory Golden Caramel with a hint of brown sugar

·Red: Ginger Snap Caramel in a dark chocolate shell filled full of soft notes of molasses to resemble a gingerbread cookie

·Green: Almond Green Caramel infused with a striking almond flavor

These were almost too gorgeous to eat. Almost, but not quite! We love caramels in my family, so it was fun to try each kind to the flavor profile they told us about. Even the youngest of us got in on the taste testing. I could see these being sent as a gift to friends and family (they come wrapped in a red box with a pretty bow) or left out at a party, especially during the holidays this year!

Be sure to check out all of the amazing products that KOHLER Original Recipe Chocolates has to offer. Plus, you can find out the latest news by following them on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
