This recipe is a two-step process and requires prep in the evening, allow the casserole to cool and marinate overnight and them pop in the oven the next morning.
Ingredients
  • 9 XL - Eggs
  • 1 cup - sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1.5 cups - 2% milk (or your flavor preference)
  • 6 slices - Speck Alto Adige Ham, thicker
  • 4 slices, thick sourdough bread
  • Salt & pepper to flavor
Instructions
  1. The night before:
  2. In a greased or butter-sprayed 9x9" casserole dish, tear apart bread pieces and line the entire bottom of your dish. Set aside.
  3. Slice of 5-6 slices of thick cut Speck Alto Adige Ham and fry in a skillet for 2-3 minutes (each side) until it is fully cooked. Trim off the top layer of fat (after cooking as this makes it easier, softer and you get the full flavor of it while cooking) and then cube your ham slices, set aside.
  4. In a separate mixing bowl, add eggs, milk, cheese and salt & pepper (to taste). Once the eggs are completely mixed, add in the ham cubes and continue mixing until eggs.
  5. Pour egg and ham mixture atop of the bread-lined pan and cover.
  6. Place casserole in fridge overnight, allowing it to marinate and absorb into the bread.
  7. The next morning:
  8. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Once over is ready, place casserole in oven and bake for 25-30 minutes or until your eggs are complete cooked on top.
