Do you know what noseblindness is?  Essentially, it is our senses inability to smell certain things that we have become immune or used to around our home.  For example, we have dogs that will come in wet and run around the house rubbing the carpet before we get a chance to catch them and dry them off.  After time, we have become immune to this smell, but that doesn’t me our family and guests that come over for a visit don’t smell it.

Or how about the lovely scent of a guinea pig of rabbit pen?  Although we no longer have the guinea pig, I remember the early times of having to change that cedar bedding often or I would gag when walking in the door at the scent of his cage after just a few days use.  As time went on, my family’s senses became more tolerant of that cage, but my poor neighbor would always let me know when she walked in that it was time to change the guinea pig cage, even if I had just changed it the night before.

You see, no matter what the culprit, pets, smoking, critters, you name it, as time goes on, the become “ingrained” in our home air with furniture and rugs.  This can be unhealthy and just down right embarrassing for my family.  Well, thanks to Febreze WONDERFUL line of home scents, I no longer have to worry about my nose-blindness!

I wanted to really put Febreze line of products to the test. So on a rainy Saturday night, I invited some friends over, popped up some extra buttery movie style popcorn and we watched a great flick, “Heaven is for Real”.  You see, as it had been raining all day, I knew the wet-doggy odor was probably predominant in the house, it really is unavoidable to get them completely dry after all.

Before everyone arrived, I was sure to spray down the sofa and chair with Febreze fabric spray and lit the aromatic Febreze Meadows & Rain Candle (very apropo considering the weather and the smell I was trying to mask, don’t you think?)

Within an hour later, the girls arrived and quickly the popcorn was popping and the movie was playing.  Immediately when my first guest walked into the door, she commented on the wonderful scent in the front room (the abyss I like to refer to it as).  Ahh, I commented, I was conducting a little experiment and would give her more details later.  Once the final guest had arrived, I had everyone take a special “Noseblind Survey” to get the party started.  Now they knew something was up because this is not our typical type of party.  I did remind them I would clue them in when the time was right.

As most can attest to, popcorn has a very strong scent and it can linger for some time.  Once the popcorn was all popped and divided out, I had them take “Secret Survey #2” as I liked to call it.  Once the movie was over, we cleaned up, I sprayed a bit of Febreze room freshener spray to lighten the air and then we went on to Survey #3.  Once they were done, I was able to tell the crew about my experiment with Febreze and the “Noseblind” test they all just took part in.  They were amazed that Febreze doesn’t just “mask” odors, but helps eliminate them.

All in all, it was a huge success!  I got to spend time with my besties, watch a great movie and partake in a fun little experiment with them.  I also learned that Febreze really has patented elements that eliminate odor, which is important for me.  The thought of masking odor is just repulsive to me and now that I have tried all of the products in the Febreze family line, I have made the complete switch and they are my number one choice of home freshness.
