Mary J Blige “A Mary Christmas” CD Prize Pack Review & Giveaway
Just in time for Christmas, I received the newly released AMAZING CD, “A Mary Christmas” featuring the soulful voice of Mary J. Blige.
I remember I was just out of high school the first time I heard Mary J Blige. Singing “Love No Limit”, her voice was fresh, rich and so soulful. Mary is so classy and timeless. She looks and sounds as great today as she did back 20 years ago in 1993 with her chart-topping CD “What’s the 411?”.
It is hard to believe that with a voice like Mary’s, it has taken 20 years to come out with her first Christmas CD, “A Mary Christmas”. so when chosen to have the chance to complete a review of her new CD, I was thoroughly excited.
Mary has that certain kind of voice that really resonates with me. I can hear a certain track or portion of a Mary song and recollect some fabulous memories through the years, and I love that she hasn’t stopped putting out the amazing hits. Her Christmas CD is every bit enjoyable, melodic and full of songs that everyone can enjoy.
The new CD tracks include:
- Little Drummer Boy
- Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas
- My Favorite Things
- This Christmas
- The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire)
- Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer
- When You Wish Upon A Star [feat. Barbra Streisand, Chris Botti]
- Mary, Did You Know
- Do You Hear What I Hear? [feat. Jessie J]
- Petit Papa Noël
- The First Noel [feat. The Clark Sisters]
- Noche De Paz (Silent Night) [feat. Marc Anthony]
This is my favorite type of CD. Filled with songs that I really love listening too and can play without skipping over. Music has been a HUGE part of my life and I listen to a large variety of music types. There are certain songs that really inspire me. The type of song that gives me goosebumps and chills when listening to it and even bring a tear or two to my eyes. Mary has done that with so many of her songs, and her new Christmas CD has proven to be yet another great Mary collaboration.
My daughter really enjoyed this CD as well, we have it set in our vehicle and listen to it everyday. It really has gotten my family into the holiday spirit and prepared us for the upcoming holiday season. All I need now is some snow.
Mary’s new CD was released on October 15th and is available at most major retailers and Amazon (online).
Be sure to pick up a copy for yourself today. This will be a beautiful addition to everyone’s music collection.
