My 2012 Kia Soul! #Review
Isn’t it Gorgeous?? When I was chosen by Kia Motors to review the 2012 Kia Soul!, my heart nearly skipped a few beats!!!!
For 1 week, I was able to tool around town and go to work in this wonderful car.
The 2012 Kia Soul retails for $23,275.00. This fully-loaded vehicle includes superb perks, such as:

- Integrated turn signals in side mirrors

- Body-colored bumpers
- Heated outside mirrors
- Leather seat trim
- Nagivation w/ Sirius Traffic
- Push Button Start w/ Smart Key

When the Kia dealer game to my home and delivered my car, I truly felt privileged and honored to review this beauty. My beautiful car included:
- 2.0L DOHC CVVT 4-Cylinder Engine
- 18″ Tires w/ Alloy Wheels
- Power steering
- Key-less entry
- Cruise Control
- A/C w/ Climate Control
- Push-button start
- Rear-camera backup view
- Power sunroof
- Heater, power-folding exterior sideview mirrors
- Compass equipped rear-view mirror
Being a tall woman at 5’10” I was worried about the leg room in this car. That was quickly squashed when I got in and started it up. We immediately took the 2012 Kia Soul for a test drive around town. I felt elevated and very comfortable behind the driver’s set of this car. I love the height of the Kia Soul, as I felt like I was driving an SUV or mini-van. The front provided me the ability to maintain great, upright posture while driving and not feel cramped and confined like my current 4-door sedan.
The trunk looks small at a glance but was able to hold all of my weekly groceries and more. The handy cargo net provided great securing and extra space to put things that would be safe from rolling around or spilling.
This car came in the middle of a typical, midwest snow storm. This car handled like a champ. Provided great traction on the snowy and wet roads and I felt very at ease and safe driving the Kia Soul! in the awful weather.
Fun Fact: Kia Motors rapping and dancing hamsters earned the company one of the most prestigious advertising awards when the “This or That” campaign for the Soul urban passenger vehicle received the “David vs Goliath” award in the category at the 2011 North American Effie Awards.
As my teenager recently turned 16 last month, I will be in the market this spring for a new vehicle. Kia Motors has been on my radar for sometime with their quality vehicles and their superb vehicle warranty. The Soul! might just be the next purchase for my household.

I’m glad you mentioned how comfortable you were in this at 5’10…I am as well, and I tend to avoid the smaller cars because of it… I will have to rethink my car shopping! 🙂

It has a lot of great features, but I just find it a little boxy for my taste.
It’s amazing how such a small car can come with so much. This is awesome and I think you were very lucky to get to test it out for a week. Too bad you couldn’t keep it lol.
I love all the great features in the Kia Soul. It’s amazing how such a compact vehicle is still fully functional. However, I would be most “comfortable/at-ease” in a mid-size sedan, so that I know I have a higher percentage of not getting totally smashed by a big rig or something (lol).

I’ve never had this model, but had a Sedona MiniVan. It was great. I was in an accident with it and even though the van was totaled, I walked away without a scratch thanks to my airbag and the encased engine. Great vehicles!

My first thought was, “that backend (trunk) cannot be very big”. But if you were able to fit your week’s worth of groceries in it, then it is definitely big enough for anything I would need to put in the backend. Thanks for the great review.

Nice looking ride, I’ve thought about getting an Kia, but I I don’t want to go in debt if I can help it, guess I will ride my Santa Fe for a while, it’s paid for.
I like all the features it has but I don’t really like the way it looks. I would pick a different KIA model for myself 🙂

I’ve seen this car before but have never read a review by a mom. This is good information, I just need to knowhow big the back seat is. How many car seats will fit in the back seat and is there room for a third person if there are two car seats.

I wish the Kia fairy would bring one and drop in my yard. I had a Kia and someone who was old enough to know better was texting and driving. Hehit me and totalled my “baby”. Know I have the Mimi Mobile, which drink gas and I can’t park. I loved my Kia so much and I miss her dearly.

my son has a kia and they are happy with it. I like the fact that it handled well on slippery roads, my Firebird cannot be driven if the roads are even a little slippery. Will keep this in mind. Thanks

Jealous, we have been shopping for a car and Kia Soul is one of our options. We are trying to decide b/c a soul or another van. I really like the space I have now in our van. Soul is rated really well.

Wow!! I was amazed at all the features this car had to offer. And while I’m on the short side, I was surprised to hear that it had lots of room inside. I bet that was pretty awesome to drive that around for a week!!

I admit the heated seats sound great right now. 🙂 I’ve never been a fan of “square” cars, but this one is cute and looks like it would be fun to drive.
