(trying this again)
A few years ago one of my friends, who’s a single mom, was having some trouble making ends meet. I purchased a new, warm winter coat for her little girl (Michigan winters are tough!) and mailed it to her along with a walmart gift card for her mom so that she could pick up stuff she needed.
There in an inexpensive Mexican Food drive thru near my house that I frequent. Many times, I have paid for the food of the person behind me in the drive-thru.
I paid for the drinks for the car behind me at Starbucks last weekend.
When I was getting my Master’s degree, I had a little boy that needed to be watched when I was at classes (and when my husband was at work). My family and friends came to my aid and did it free of charge.
After I graduated, I met a lady in my church who was going to school and needed someone to watch her boy. I told her I would watch her son for free. I explained how I had help when I went to school and I wanted to do the same. It was nice to help out another and see how much it means to them.
the other day my 4 year old granddaughter was sitting on my lap and she gives me a big hug and then looks at me and says “Grandma you can be my grandma but not my mom. I asked her why and she said “because your old and grandmas are old not moms.I told her “ok i will be your grandma then.”
I had a homeless man come up to me at Mcdonald’s one day and tho I tend to walk away from them
thinking they want booze money, I stopped that day to hear what he had to say.
He asked me very politely if I could buy them all a 1.00 hamburger because they hadn’t eaten since the day before. I went in and bought them burgers and fries and gave them bottled water. I have never seen three men so happy to get some cheap fast food and it made me feel good that they got to eat.
