Amwell_Mom_and_Child_Hotel_PhoneSometimes sickness or injuries come at the most inconvenient time.  Sometimes you don’t have the time to go to the doctor’s office or maybe you are a family who only has one car and your significant other is at work when sickness hits.  Whether it be you or your child, getting a doctor’s opinion is needed.  Thanks to Amwell, you can now talk to a doctor in the comfort of your own home!

The nation’s largest telehealth company, Amwell, has board-certified, licensed doctors, dieticians and psychologists that make immediate and live visits. And it doesn’t matter if it’s day or night or on your smartphone or desktop – there is always a doctor available for you! They can help with minior illnesses, injuries, general healtha nd wellness concerns, prescription refills, and chronic condition management.

My family is super busy and on the go a lot. Sometimes things get stressful and it’s nice to have someone to talk to, so I turned to Amwell. Signing into the Amwell app on my iPhone 6 Plus was so easy and convenient.

20151020_163941000_iOSYou first pick the provider you wanted. I selected one of the Psychologists, which took me to a screen asking who the visit was for. I had already set up “profile” for myself, so I selected my name and entered my phone number in case the provider needed to call for a follow-up. Next I entered the topic I wanted to discuss. There is also a section where you can enter your own topic. You then select your local pharmacy where you would like to pick up any needed prescriptions, and then select a box that says “I have read and agree to the Privacy Policy.” You then have to fill out if you or your child have any medical conditions or are currently on any medications. Then you’ll get the cost of your service and provide your payment info then be connected to your provider. Easy peasy!

20151020_163915000_iOSI just love that I can talk to a medical professional in the comfort of my own home.  You can talk to a therapist about many topics including:

  •  Trauma and Loss
  • Stress and Anxiety
  • Infertility Stress
  • Changes in Mood
  • Postpartum Support
  • Parenting Issues
  • Anger Management
  • Financial Challenges
  • Substance Abuse
  • Relationship issues

Whether you need someone to talk to about a behavioral health issue, or illness or minor injury, Amwell is there for you!  I know I will definitely be using Amwell again in the future as needed!  It’s not only easier but also has a lower cost than going to the doctor. Right now, your first visit can be free using code SOULCARE. Be sure to include this code during your session to make your first visit free!
