Blue Orange Games’ Gobblet Gobblers and Ring It! #FAMChristmas
Games are always a fun gift to give and receive – I know my daughter is in a game streak. They are fun to play and they can be educational. A favorite game maker of mine is Blue Orange Games!
Blue Orange Games was found in 2000 in San Francisco by Julien Mayot and Thierry Denoual. They wanted to spread the timeless pleasure of connecting face to face with family and friends around a great game. THey have become an industry-acclaimed company with over 40 games that are sold in 15 countries worldwide, and you can find their games in large chains such as Barnes and Noble, Target, and Toys “R” Us.
One of the reasons I love Blue Orange Games? For each tree that is used in the creation of one of their games, Blue Orange plants two trees. I love that they are green like that! This program was launched in 2007 – since then they have planted over 100,000 trees!
Blue Orange’s first game was Gobblet. Now they have a fun version for kids called Gobblet Gobblers! It is a Tic-Tac-Toe style game that is colorful and a great strategy game for kids to challenge their parents. Just like Tic-Tac-Toe, you just line up three of your Gobblers in a row to win! It is intended for 2 players, ages 5 and up. It has won three awards: Oppenhelm Gold Seal, Dr. Toy 10 Best Games, and the NAPPA Gold Award.
Another fun game from Blue Orange is Ring It! This is a new game where players continuously flip their cards until a combination is found. When you find the combo, you have to clap your hands and ring the bell. There are three different ways to get combinations: either by colors, numbers, or shapes. This is a great game for ages 5 and up that helps with visual perception, focus and attention, and processing speed.
