Cheap Entertainment Ideas for Nursing Students
Going to college doesn’t come cheap, so you need to cut corners in other areas of your life in order to make it easier to afford your tuition, books, supplies, etc. And this is especially true if you’re attending a school to complete one of the many online nurse practitioner programs and become a family nurse practitioner. Thankfully, there are many cheap entertainment ideas that you can pursue if you’re a nursing student and you need to let loose on a budget. 
Go to the Movies
A night out at the movies can be a lot of fun, especially if you go with a large group of friends. But don’t go on a Friday night when ticket prices are likely to be higher. Instead, go for the matinee showing so that you don’t have to pay the full price for a ticket, and look for other special promotions and discounts. Once there, avoid the temptation to spend a lot of cash on snacks and soda and instead just head right in to find your seat.
Volunteer
Another great way to have some fun is by volunteering. See if there are any upcoming events at your school or in your community that are seeking volunteers, and offer your time and effort to help the event come to life and run smoothly. You may be able to volunteer at a concert, charity event, carnival, etc. that will allow you to have fun while also gaining some experience.
Go Outside
Getting outside into nature may seem boring at first, but it is actually a lot of fun. Going for a swim in the ocean, heading out for a hike with your friends, and finding beautiful parks in your local area are all great ways to experience something new and take in the beauty of the natural world. Pack some snacks and take some water with you so that you don’t even have to worry about spending money when you get hungry.
Sip Coffee at a Café
Look up some local cafes that offer delicious drinks and free entertainment. You might find a really neat place that features musicians or poetry readings on certain nights of the week for free, and you can use that as an opportunity to head out with your friends, enjoy some delicious coffee or tea, and watch a new artist perform.
Go to a Bar to Watch Local Bands
Local bands often perform at small local bars, and you usually just have to pay a small entrance fee to get in and see the act while having some drinks to relax. You may be surprised by the talent that you are able to find at local venues, so definitely give these bands a chance.
There are plenty of ways that nursing students can entertain themselves, even when they are on the tightest budget. It’s important for all college students to take a break from their studies and unwind, as having the right work-life balance will help them maintain their health and happiness.
