Earlier this week I shared some exciting social media shares with you on my recent visit to the Western & Southern Open in Cincinnati. While there, I had the chance to explore several vendor booths, but my favorite by far was the Cheeses of Europe!I arrived a few minutes after our event started and JUST MISSED the opportunity to meet Kiki Bertens (who won the Women’s Title for the first time right here in Cincinnati)! I was just excited to get the chance to sample Cheeses of Europe and learn more about the delectable fromage (French for cheese).

You can image walking up and seeing all of the tantalizing choices available to test and savor. I started with a cheese that is a little bit out of my normal cheese consumption, a bleu cheese. First up was Roquefort! This cheese is a unique, softer cheese that is cultivated and aged in the caves of Mont Combalu for 3-9 months. Yes, you read that correctly – A CAVE! Roquefort is considered the king of blue cheeses and is exclusively made in the caves of Mont Combalu, France. I paired this cheese with a small, soft piece of baguette and some honey – let me say C’est Magnifique! We moved onto other tasty cheeses including classic Swiss, Gouda and another new favorite I tried for the first time, Mimolette. This cheese has a sharper and somewhat sweeter taster. It has a bright orange hue and was taled to be the best cheese for the most perfect gooey and tasty grilled cheese sandwich ever!

Mimolette originates in Pas-de-Calais, France and is pressed, cooked and aged at four separates ranging fro 3-24 months. I cannot wait to make my family the ultimate sandwich with delicious Mimolette cheese.

While traveling to the rolling plains of France would be the ultimate experience to taste Cheeses of Europe, my budget just won’t allow it at this time. FORTUNATELY, Cheeses of Europe are available in select retailers nationwide including Meifer and Kroger and Company stores. You can also purchase online and have it delivered to your home.
