Our Review
Jo’s Special Gifts takes you into the world of a bright, beautiful autistic child. It allows you to see Jo’s world from Jo’s view, as well as his parents. It touches on Jo’s special ways he copes with the world around him, as well as what things are most important in his world, including music and all things SPACE related. The illustrations are bright, colorful and easily identifiable for a reader of any age.
My daughter is a special needs Kindergarten teacher and this book will make a great addition to her classroom. The book gives the reader a great view of Autism from both points, both the autistic child, as well as the parent. The author shares amazing footnotes and tips at the end.
