Summertime is upon us and I just love the early days of summer.  The rainstorms, the crisp, warm days and lots of outdoor activity and laughter.  I just added a new deck and awning to the back of our house and this has already proven to be a very worthwhile investment.  We can now sit outside without the hot summer sun blaring down on us directly and making it so unbearable, we want to find relief indoors.

FunShine Product Collection

With the combination of sunshine and rain, we have already hosted many outdoor gatherings, large and small.  We also grill out 2-3 nights a week and enjoy some fun family time on our back deck for dinner.  Weekends come with some extra special fun – sweet treats and water games.

Snickers Ice Cream Bar Shake

One of my family favorite sweet treats are our home made chocolate shakes make with SNICKERS® Ice Cream Bars. SNICKERS® Ice Cream Bars are delicious by themselves as a cool summer treat, but when you chop them up and blend them into a smooth, creamy chocolate shakes, it is like having a delicious, caramel-y ice cube to keep your shake cooler and sweeter. Serves: 1

Recipe yields one shake per person
Ingredients
  • 1 whole - frozen SNICKERS® Ice Cream Bar, chopped
  • ½ cup - milk, whole milk makes it sweeter
  • 2 scoops - frozen vanilla yogurt
  • 2 Tbsp - Chocolate syrup
  • Whipped Cream (optional) - either blended in for flavor or topped for appearance
Instructions
  1. Add ice cream and milk to the blender and mix on medium for 30-45 seconds, or until desired texture is reached. Slowly add chocolate syrup until you have reached the desired color/flavor of chocolate into your shake. Pour ingredients into a glass or mug (I use mugs that I have kept frozen in the freezer for an extra cool twist).
  2. Chop 1 whole SNICKERS® Ice Cream Bar into ½ inch pieces and add into your shake, stir until blended.
  3. Top with whipped cream, add a straw and enjoy.
  4. *Note another option for a thicker, sweeter flavor is to add in the SNICKERS® Ice Cream Bar pieces into the blender, making it a more chocolate, caramel shake taste.
