SUN VALLEY FILM FESTIVAL FUTURE FILMMAKERS- Contest open to 7th-12 graders
IS YOUR CHILD AN ASPIRING FILMMAKER?
The Sun Valley Film Festival and its Future Filmmakers Forum are now accepting student submissions for the 4th annual Sun Valley Film Festival to be held March 4th-8th, 2015. The Future Filmmakers Forum showcases student-made films from the Wood River Valley, greater Idaho and across the country. A screening, reception and award ceremony will take place during the festival. The program encourages students to view filmmaking as a valid field of enterprise, which comes with challenges requiring fortitude, creative vision, and execution.
Students in grades 7th to 12th are invited to submit films, no longer than 15 minutes. Submissions will be received through the Sun Valley Film Festival website. Full details regarding categories, submission requirements, deadlines and more can be found at www.sunvalleyfilmfestival.org/submissions
Two awards will be granted to future filmmakers. The Hot Shot is awarded for the best National film submitted by a student and will include a $500 cash prize from Big Wood Ski™. The Gem State Junior is awarded for the best film submitted by a student from the state of Idaho and the winner will receive a $250 cash prize from Big Wood Ski™.
The Future Filmmakers Forum was developed for Middle School and Upper School students, allowing them to experience the full process of filmmaking, submission, festival attendance, as well as to meet kindred student filmmakers and professional filmmakers working in the field.
Big Wood Ski™ and Pirie Jones Grossman are proud sponsors of the Future Filmmakers Forum.
