Growing up, we all have heard at least one version or another of the classic fairy tale of Cinderella. The Mouse House made their version famous and every child knows that name well. In this new book, Sylvia Locke’s Cinderella and the Evil Fairy Godmother, it provides a modern-day twist on the classic tale and shows a different side of her fairy godmother. You can purchase this book on Amazon.

ABOUT THE BOOK

Sylvia Locke’s Cinderella and the Evil Fairy Godmother

Fairytale Land’s baddest girl is about to head to a prince’s ball. A modern, twisted retelling of Cinderella.

Once upon a time in Fairytale Land, there lived Sylvia Locke—the baddest girl around. So bad that her grandparents have shipped her off to live with her uptight Aunt Marjorie and two goody-two-shoes step-cousins. When an invitation to the prince’s ball arrives, Sylvia is determined to attend at any cost, even if it means enlisting the help of an evil fairy godmother (against Fairytale Land laws, but has that ever stopped her?). Along this chaotic quest, Sylvia stumbles into some unexpectedly imperfect friends. But will she also learn to appreciate those who truly care for her?

The second book in the Tairy Fails series of modern, twisted retelling that puts a hilarious, rebellious, new spin on the classic fairy tales. Perfect for elementary school kids and early chapter book readers.

OUR REVIEW

Such an exciting twist on a timeless classic that people of all ages have come to grow and love. The interactions between Sylvia and the Evil Fairy Godmother, Pamela is quite comical and keeps the reader in stitches throughout the story. The book provides a new viewpoint of scenarios and situations in the classic original Cinderella story. While the story has a delightful ending, it deters from the traditional “Happily Ever After” we have all come to know over the decades.

The book is a great way to get kids into a love of reading at an early age. The author paints a comical tale that will easily amuse the reader and keep the laughs coming endlessly. It is hard to put down and you will want to read it cover to cover.

The book is available for purchase on Amazon and you will want to pick up the first installment, Sylvia Lock and the Three Bears in the Horn Series to keep up with his comical writing style. This book is geared towards children ages 6-10, and is a good read at 98 pages, but honestly, I enjoyed the story as an adult and I easily suspect other adults love it too.
