Have you heard of personal injury cases? You’re probably familiar with the idea of people getting injured in accidents that weren’t their fault and then subsequently litigating the people responsible. Unless it’s happened to you, you’re probably not aware of the kinds of personal injury cases out there.

Accidents at work, car accidents, medical negligence- these are probably the most recognisable cases out there, however, there are a whole host of other incidents and circumstances that could be identified as personal injury cases. Want to know more? Here we’ll examine the most common types of personal injury cases.

Remember, if you’ve been involved in an accident that wasn’t your fault you should speak with a personal injury lawyer as soon as possible – check out this website for more information.

Wrongful death

In some extreme circumstances, the negligible actions of someone else can result in the untimely death of you or a loved one. Many different scenarios can result in a wrongful death lawsuit, from nursing home abuse to medical malpractice, defective products and of course car and bike accidents. These kinds of personal injury cases usually involve the family left behind, working with a PI lawyer to claim compensation for funeral expenses, suffering and medical expenses.

Workplace accidents

Your employee must ensure you’re working in a safe environment. Sadly, if you’re injured at work then you could be left disabled, unable to work and provide for your family and struggle to pay your medical bills. Your company may have worker’s compensation already in place, but speaking with an attorney about your situation is still advised.

Premises liability

You may be familiar with slip, trips and fall cases. These tend to fall under the term premises liability. These are injuries or accidents that are caused by the neglect of those supposedly in charge of the property. So, malls, restaurants, shops, swimming pools, car parks or even your friends’ house – if you slip, fall down the stairs or trip due to bad lighting and it could have been avoided then you may be able to pursue a personal injury case.

Car accidents

If you’re driving along and you’re suddenly hit by another vehicle and it wasn’t your fault, then you could have a personal injury claim. The injuries sustained in a car accident can be severe, as well as all the additional costs involved. It can be both physically and financially devastating. If you’ve been in a car crash that wasn’t your fault, your personal injury lawyer will help handle evidence and represent you in court.

Finally, medical malpractice

Mishandled births and birth injuries, surgical errors, misdiagnosis, medication errors. If your health has deteriorated as a result of a neglectful medical team then you could have a personal injury claim.

After being in an accident , your life is never the same.

  2. Being disabled from an accident I can only say that whatever money you receive is not worth living with a disability for the rest of your life, especially since most of the money goes to the doctors and lawyers!
