Three Sports to Look Forward to as Competitions Resume in the USA

With a tumultuous spring and summer behind us, many sports fans have found themselves, over the past few months, twiddling their thumbs on what would have been game day. Whether you’re the kind of fan that heads to your local stadium as a weekend ritual, or you gorge yourself on sporting action in the bar, or from home, it’s been a trying time with little sports to watch. It was rough going without our favorite professional sports like the NFL and NBA. We even missed the analysis and advice of our favorite sports handicappers like Doc’s Sports NBA tips. But with competitions resuming for several sports – and plenty of huge events to look forward to – here are three sports to pay particular attention to in the coming weeks and months.

Formula 1

The pinnacle of motor racing, the Formula 1 season was postponed from the first race of 2020, in Melbourne, as it emerged that members of the pit crews had tested positive for coronavirus. Now returned, with a different schedule, the season is looking like an exciting scrap between the two Mercedes drivers, and the Red Bull car of Max Verstappen.

As of this moment, no race is scheduled to take place in the USA this year – but even if it was, it’s unlikely that spectators would be able to watch from the stands and the hills surrounding the Texas track. Instead, catch the season on your sports subscription services to watch as Lewis Hamilton looks to break Michael Schumacher’s record for overall race wins in the sport.

UFC

The relatively new fighting sport of UFC has gone from strength to strength over the course of the last two decades, rising to become one of the most lucratively-sponsored sports in the world. But, with Connor McGregor now officially retired, and other UFC stars moving in to fill the void he left behind, the sport is entering a new phase of excitement, as several stars of the ring battle it out this year to become the undisputed champion of the cage.

Box office events are announced ahead of time, giving you plenty of time to prepare for some of the most richly-rewarded battles between individual athletes in the world. You can get involved yourself, too, by using UFC Betting Online at Odds Shark and placing bets on the fighter you think will have the edge during these box office events.

Golf

With clubs packed and caddies primed, golf makes this list as a sport that millions have missed dearly – both playing and watching – over the course of these past few months. With world tours canceled and the biggest golfing events of the year postponed, golf is now returning to the limelight as a sport to sit back and enjoy from your sofa – or, indeed, to participate in on the fairway.

This coming year looks set to be one of the most dramatic golfing seasons that the world has ever seen, with more unpredictability than ever before making events such as the Ryder Cup fizzle with excitement and energy. Keep an eye out for rescheduled international golfing events for your fix of fairway fun and putting action.

Tune back in to sport this winter by watching some of the best athletes in the world compete in cars, in the ring, and on the green.

  • First two sound good. Not a fan of golf.
