“How to Train Your Dragon 2” Movie Night Party Tip Ideas #DragonsMovieNight
Did you know that one of the biggest summer hits – How to Train Your Dragon 2 – is now available on DVD and Digital Download? Last night my family had a fun movie night to celebrate the release of the movie. It was our first snow day, so it was perfect timing! 🙂
In case you have not seen How To Train Your Dragon 2 yet, it is about 5 years after the first movie. Hiccup and Toothless discover an ice cave that is home to hundreds of new wild dragons and a mysterious person called Dragon Rider. They then find themselves at the center of a battle to protect the peace. It stars the voices of Jay Baruchel (Hiccup), Gerard Butler (Stoick), Cate Blanchett (Valka), Craig Ferguson (Gobber), Jonah Hill (Snotlout), Kristen Wiig (Ruffnut), as well as many others.
In celebration of the DVD/Blu-Ray release of How To Train Your Dragon 2, Riley, my husband, and I decided to have a fun movie party this Monday after Riley’s school called off because of snow. It ended up being a nice Snow Day. We enjoyed watching the movie since we didn’t get a chance to see it when it came to theaters, as well as enjoyed delicious snacks on our How To Train Your Dragon 2 themed plates and milk in themed cups. It was a nice, relaxing, warm time cuddled up as a family.
You can have your own How To Train Your Dragon 2 party! Simply get yourself a copy of the movie, some themed plates and cups, and you can also plan some fun activities and snacks. Here’s a few ideas for you:
- Dragon Breath Punch – Put a small bowl into the center of a large bowl. Place small chunks of dry ice, with tongs, in the larger bowl, and fill with just enough water to cover it. It will began to “steam.” Mix cranberry juice and add lemon-lime or club soda for a fun drink.
- Dragon Torches – Insert candy pop sticks into marshmallows, and then dip them into melted chocolate. Next, crush some graham crackers and roll the tops of the marshmallows in it. You can then roast the sides of the marshmallows to give them an extra burnt torch look.
- Dragon Racing – Having the kids create paper airplanes and then compete to see who can get their plane to fly the furthest.
