Cardinal Health Is There For You With Their Advanced Wound Care Kit
Cardinal Health sent me this product to try, and donated to a charity of my choice.
If you have been through surgery or even birth, sometimes you have a wound that needs care even after you leave the hospital. Sometimes the hospital sends you home with supplies, but not always. Thankfully Cardinal Health now has a great line of products to help us out at home.
If you’ve never heard of Cardinal Health, they have over 100 years of experience and their medical products and services are used by most United States hospitals. They have also recently launched a line of at-home products to bring that same care and healing to the comfort of your own home. Their line of products, The Cardinal Health™ brand, offers a great assortment of hospital-quality products to it’s consumers, including Advanced Wound Care, First Aid, Home Healthcare, and Personal Care products. Did you know that each year, 46.1 million inpatient and outpatient surgical procedures take place? This makes post-hospital care so important to avoid re-admission. You can find some other interesting facts in this infographic from Cardinal Health.
Cardinal Health sent me a great wound care kit that has several items that are must-haves to take care of your wounds. These products are ideal for local wounds such as minor cut and scrapes, blisters, minor surgical wounds, and minor burns.
Vinyl Exam Gloves – When dealing with any kind of wound, you need gloves. These Vinyl Exam Gloves are powder fee and include Neu-Thera, which moisturizes and soothes dry and flaking skin. They will fit either hand and are comfortable and lightweight.
Silicone Bordered Foam – This 3×3 inch dressing is perfect for cuts and scrapes, minor surgical wounds (as directed by a physician), 1st and 2nd degree burns, lacerations and abrasions, and diabetic, venous, arterial, and pressure ulcers. The highly absorbent foam pad is surrounded by a gentle silicone adhesive, and provides long-lasting protection of up to 7 days of wear.
Hydrocolloid Dressing – This dressing is perfect for minor cuts and scrapes, minor scalds and burns, diabetic ulcers, leg ulcers, and pressure ulcers, lacerations and minor abrasions, as well as minor surgical wounds (as directed by a physician). These have a wear time of up to 7 days and they help create a moist environment to promote healing. I love that they are water resistant as well.
Transparent Dressing – For the treatment of advanced wounds, this transparent dressing has long-lasting protection (wear up to 7 days), maintains a moist environment to promote healing, and is water-resistant. It can be used for blisters, minor cuts and scrapes, certain types of bedsores, healing of new tattoos, after tattoo removal, minor burns, catheter/IV sites, and minor surgical wounds (as directed by a physician).
Protective Underpads – This Cardinal Health product is probably my favorite one. You can protect your bed, chairs, car interiors, and more with this multi-layer underpad. It locks fluids into the core and has a back sheet that allows air to circulate.
