Crucial toys for Child’s Development
When baby is born a whole family gets together and starts buying various items that will help out. Toys are one of the top of priorities. In fact, if a person doesn’t know what to buy, there are good chances he or she will buy a toy for the newly born.
While this isn’t necessarily bad, it isn’t particularly good as well. Having too many toys can pose a problem for parents who have to choose the right item for their baby. Always remember that particular toys are ideal for a particular age group. At the same time, you have to prioritize between toys that are beneficial and can help development of your child and those that may hinder it.
In order to understand this better, we’ve made a short list of the best development toys and when to use them.
Toys for newborns
Although most people go out of their way to buy best possible toys for newborns and jumpstart their development, the truth is that small babies really don’t need that much. Just by having an activity mat and placing it in the center of the room, you’ve done half of the job. Now, during first month or two, you need to introduce as many items as possible in baby’s vicinity (not necessarily toys but have to be stimulating). Not even colors are that important given that babies cannot recognize them until 3rd month. It’s important for baby to start exploring, to be active and to move around. You need to force an infant to roll in an attempt to reach out to these toys. This is crucial for motoric skills.
Toys for small babies (between 1 and 6 months)
Somewhere along the way it’s necessary to introduce toys that make sounds and music (rattle being the best example) as well as toys with lots of patterns and colors. These groups of items will be crucial for the development of hearing and sight. You can also add some basic grabbing toys into the mix. These will force a baby to develop its sense of touch and to be more active.
Toys for babies from 6 to 12 months
At this point in time, we can presume that baby is being accustomed to its surroundings and progressing well. You need to have lots of toys that are interactive and perform several functions. These are some toys which baby can press, which produce sounds and colors. Basic blocks and cups can be introduced as well as other plastic products that will allow infant to play around. You should also consider books with pictures as they allow you to introduce more complex entities such as animals and plants.
Toys for toddlers
Most babies start walking when they reach one year. This is why you might consider purchasing toys such as cars (that a baby can ride) and other items that increase infant’s independence. It’s necessary to stimulate walking and exploration. Baby needs to get accustomed to its surroundings and be able to explore. This is important part of learning and will also help the brain. Reborn babies are another great gift as they teach kids how to behave with dolls and be responsible. You might also consider items such as balls that will allow your child to be more active and start running around. Crayons can also be great as they increase creativity and allow child to express itself.
With all these cool tips, you are prepared for parenting. Just make sure to buy the right toys and be proactive parent and there is no reason why your child wouldn’t develop properly!
