With fall arriving and kids back in school, I find myself cooking more soups and stews for a warm, hearty and tasty meal.  I love trying new and different things in the kitchen.  When given the opportunity to review fun and unique shaped pasta from Pasta Shoppe, I was excited.

More about Pasta Shoppe:

After honeymooning in Italy in 1992, just two short years later, John & Casey Aron traveled back to Italy to understand exactly what it took to make the highest-quality and best-tasting pasta around. Then we added the fun part: hand-crafted bronze dies to create more than 250 different pasta shapes! From cat paws to Christmas trees to college logos, we’ve got a fun pasta shape for everyone.

The Pasta Shoppe is in love with creating small batches of quality pasta – no mass production. Our plant is similar to the ’boutique’ manufacturing plants found in Italy, home of perfect pasta. That’s why we buy all our pasta-making machines from Italy and fill them with only the finest ingredients available – 100% durum semolina flour and all-natural vegetable powders.

Pasta Shoppe Variety Pack

My packaged arrived nicely wrapped and no damage to any of the delicate pasta contents. My variety pack included:

  • Florida Gators Pasta Salad
  • Ohio State University Pasta Salad
  • Cheerleading Pasta
  • Snowman Pasta
  • Cheesy Pasta
  • Chicken Noodle Chicken Shaped Pasta
  • Spinach Garlic Angel Hair Pasta

My daughter immediately requested I create something with the Florida Gators Pasta as she is a HUGE fan and hopes to go to school there.

Gator Pasta

Easy to open and prepare, I simple boiled in hot water on the stove top.  I always add a hint of cooking oil to my water when heating pasta, as this provides a nice soft result without any pieces sticking together or the bottom of the pan.

As you can see the shape of the pasta was just as distinctive both before and after cooking.  Such fun “F” shapes for Florida and the head of a gator, the college mascot.

Uncooked Pasta

Cooked Pasta

Adding some freshly cooked chicken, some sliced carrots, chopped celery and a hit of chicken stock, this pasta was the hit of my dinner table for two solid nights.

Chicken Noodle Soup

I am more than pleased, I am elated with the quality and taste that Pasta Shoppe products provides.  I would recommend them to anyone wanting quality products with fun, interesting and unique shapes to provide a little variety to your meals.
