Pay Less for Your Tech
If you are a tech aficionado, as many of us are these days, it can get pretty expensive pretty fast. There’s always a new device being released that you just have to have or an old device breaking and needing to be replaced, and it can end up costing you a whole lot of cash.
It doesn’t have to be that way! There are a number of things you can do that will help you pay less for the tech you love including the following:
Do your homework
Before you buy a new Bluetooth speaker or smartphone or whatever, then do your research. Check up on all the latest models and find the one that meets your needs without giving you way more features than you will actually use.
If you buy the tech that best meets your need, you will never end up overpaying for fancy features that you never use at a premium.
See if you can repair it
If your iPhone gives up the ghost or your Xbox stops working, before you throw it away and buy a new one, see if you can get it repaired first. A timely smart phone repair can be cheaper than buying a new device, and that means you have more money to spend on other tech gadgets instead. Just be aware that repairing every item every time is not going to be cheaper every time, so you do need to do your research before deciding whether to repair or buy new.
Buy at the right time
There are certain times of the year when it is better to buy new tech than others because there are more deals to be had. For example, buying in October, November and December is usually a good bet because holidays like Thanksgiving, Diwali and Christmas happen at this time of year and the stores are all looking to offer discounts to bring in as much business as they can.
Buying a few months after a piece of technology has been released is also likely to be more fruitful than buying on launch day if you are looking to find deals and save money, so bear that in mind too.
Choose a refurbished model
Refurbished tech is simp;y tech that has been returned because it has a fault or the customer has changed their mind. It is fully inspected and repaired before sale so it is basically as good as new, but obviously, it has a much smaller price tag than a brand-new version. If you buy from a reputable company, you will probably even get a warranty thrown into the bargain, so there is nothing to worry about when buying refurbished, and of course, it means, again, that you will be left with more money in your pocket.
Tech is rarely cheap, but you can make it cheaper by being smarter, and all of the above ideas will help you to pay less for your tech so you can enjoy it even more!
