Please Take a Moment to Read This..
This was posted over at a great friend and bloggers site Centsless Deals had to repost this and I hope you will share it as well…..
This isn’t the usual CentsLess post. I’ve had something on my heart for a while and I want to take some time to share it with you. A friend of mine had posted a link on Facebook to a blog about a woman who adopted a child from Bulgaria. Not just any child, but a beautiful little girl who at 9 years old (I think that was her age but don’t quote me) weighed less than a toddler. She was all skin and bones and her bones weren’t formed in the correct shape because of her lack of care. I read as much of that blog as I could and then followed links to videos and websites about these poor poor kids who are put into institutions because they are orphans and have no one to care for them.
Now few of you know this, but it’s really in my heart to adopt a child with down syndrome. Yes, I do have 4 kids but have wanted 6 ever since I can remember and just because I can’t give birth to any more doesn’t mean my family has to stop growing. There is a website called Reece’s Rainbow and it has photo after photo of children not only with down syndrome but HIV and other various medical problems that have been abandoned and need a family to love them.
After hours of crying and feeling like my heart would break for these little children I have decided to take action. It was easy to see how I could help. Reece’s Rainbow offers the option of donating towards these children’s adoption expenses, so this is what I would ask of you: please if you have any extra even change that you could donate towards a child, please do. Even $1 may seem insignificant to you but could change that child’s life. There are sooo many of those kids that need a mommy, and I’m going to pray I can make that happen, not only by saving up to bring one into my home but by asking that all of you seriously take a look at how much we have been blessed with and share that. The best part is if you donate via PayPal you will see their adoption fund go up immediately!! They do need to keep 10% of the donation for their PayPal fees and to keep Reece’s Rainbow up and running.
If your heart can’t handle looking through the pictures to choose a child to donate to, please consider donating at least a few dollars to this child. Her name is Yana and she is the most precious baby I have ever seen. I am praying really hard that God would make it possible that I could be her mommy, but even if I can’t I would love to help make it possible for her to get a mommy as soon as possible. There are so many on that site I would love to bring into my home, if it were up to me they all would find a parent. Unfortunately it’s an expensive and long process, but at least we could try and help!!
Now besides donating money there are other ways you can help!! There are so many ways to help that I cannot possibly list them all so simply follow this link to go read how you can help. If these children are not adopted by a certain age they are put into an institution and they are simply horrible living conditions. Watch this video, you’ll see….
Isn’t that heartbreaking? I sat last night and read the articles and watched the videos and cried. Then I looked over at my stockpile. We have been so blessed, why not take a little of what we save from our coupons etc. and put it towards a child who doesn’t even have a home. These kids don’t know what it feels like to be held, to be warm, to be properly nourished. I want to call you to action, whether it be $1 or $1,000 (of more if you want to donate, I’m sure no one will complain!) but let’s help get these children the love they deserve. Some live their entire lives in an institution and die without ever knowing what it was like to be loved.
The Bible says “If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him? Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth.” (NIV) 1 John 3:17-18
So let’s do this, I’m going to put my money where my mouth is and make a donation, but I beg all of you to find a way to help whether it be donating money or time, find a way to get these kids the love they deserve!
Thanks for reading my lengthy post, my heart has just been broken for days since seeing Reece’s Rainbows and because I am so blessed with so many wonderful, faithful readers I thought this could be my way to help. Thanks so much and please, please, share this so these poor babies can find a wonderful home quickly!
