I love all kinds of sweet treat baking around the holiday season. With office parties, family gatherings and just the desire to have a festive holiday sweet treat around the house, my stove has been in overdrive the past couple of weeks. When contacted by McCormick’s to try one of their holiday recipes, I welcomed the opportunity.
I opted to try their simple, yet delectable Peppermint Bark Recipe using 4 simple ingredients:
- 1 pkg. – White Chocolate Chips
- 1 tsp. – McCormicks Peppermint Pure Extract
- 8 drops – McCormick’s Red Food Coloring
- 1/2 cup – Chopped up Candy Canes
This makes a total of 12 servings of 2-3 pieces each.
Cooking Directions:
- Microwave chocolate chips in large microwavable bowl on HIGH for 1 1/2 to 2 minutes or until almost melted, stirring after 1 minute. Stir until chocolate is completely melted and mixture is smooth. Stir in peppermint extract.
- Spread on large foil-lined baking sheet to 1/4-inch thickness. Add food color, drop by drop, over mixture. Using a wooden skewer, swirl color through chocolate. Sprinkle with crushed candies, pressing lightly into chocolate with spatula.
- Refrigerate about 10 minutes or until firm. Break into irregular pieces to serve. Store in covered container at cool room temperature or in refrigerator up to 5 days.
This holiday treat is super easy to make and will surely be the hit of your party. Thanks to McCorkmick for this opportunity. Be sure to check out the this and other recipes available for holiday sweet treats from McCormick.
This is so pretty and it would be nice at Valentine’s too! Can’t wait to try this. I think even those softer round peppermints would be great too. Not so hard to chew.
Looks good, and looks pretty easy to do! Thanks for sharing! =)
I LOVE peppermint bark, and even though Christmas is over, I’m thinking I need to make this soon! lol Thanks for the recipe 🙂
