The world is a weird and wonderful place, with no two countries being exactly alike. There’s so much to do and see, with city breaks being a great way to experience specific cultures. If you’re looking to make the most of your travels, here are six cities you absolutely must put on your bucket list.

  1. New York

New York City is one of the biggest economical hubs in the world and is known as the city that never sleeps. It has one of the most iconic skylines of all the cities, dominated by skyscrapers and tall buildings across each of its boroughs. Home to Wall Street and Broadway, New York City is known as a place where dreams come true. Even if your dream isn’t to make it in the concrete jungle, it has to be experienced at least once in your life. Whether you go to watch a shower, admire the Statue of Liberty or be dazzled by the lights of Times Square, NYC has something for everyone.

  1. Paris

No bucket list would be complete without the City of Love. Paris is famed the world over for its romantic aesthetic and classic architecture, including the Eiffel Tower and Arc de Triomphe. If you’re into art and culture, Paris is the place to be, and even better if you have someone special to experience it all with.

  1. London

London is the most visited city in the world, drawing in crowds from all over the world due to its longstanding history and famous tourist attractions. The Royal Family are among the biggest tourist magnets to the city, with millions flocking to Buckingham Palace every year to see infamous guards in their bearskin hats. There’s much more to see in London, including the Houses of Parliament, the London Eye and the Dungeons. If you’re wondering ‘can I go on holiday in the UK?’ post-Brexit, the answer is yes, but you may need a Visa.

  1. Tokyo

In a complete contrast from the first three cities on the list is Tokyo, the capital of Japan. The city has gained a reputation for being ultra-modern and ahead of the curve, with neon neighborhoods that make Times Square look small. That being said, no city juxtaposes the old and the new quite like Tokyo. One minute you’re wandering through one of the world’s most tech-savvy locations, but the next you’re taking in the historical sights in the form of the Sensoji temple. For a mix of contemporary and traditional, Tokyo does it better than most.

  1. Seoul

Seoul is a metropolis of a city and is also considered an Alpha city – one that plays a role in the global economy. As well as its contribution to the world’s economy, it is considered to have the second highest quality of life in Asia, but it comes at a price, with Seoul being the sixth most expensive city to live in worldwide. So, it might not be viable to live there, but it’s well worth a visit. From being the birthplace of K-pop to homing five UNESCO world heritage sights, Seoul is well worth a visit.

  1. Sydney

Australia is a place like no other, namely because its isolated location means it is host to a number of unique animal species that can’t be found anywhere else. The tropical climate and laid back nature of the Australians makes it a must-see country, but Sydney is one of the must-see cities in the world. From the iconic Opera House to Bondi Sands beach and a walk along the top of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, there’s plenty to do and see. For a slice of animal life, visit the zoo and take in some of Australia’s favorite critters, including koalas and kangaroos.

Will you be visiting any of these cities any time soon?
