Now that the holidays are around the corner, a lot of people are thinking about giving. For a lot of families, times can be hard because of holidays and gift giving. We like to try and help out a local family each year. Cheerios™ has a great program going on now that you can participate in as well!
Right now at Walmart you can purchase a Family Sized box of Cheerios™, Honey Nut Cheerios™, Multi-Grain Cheerios™, Apple Cinnamon Cheerios™, or Frosted Cheerios™ that have the “Buy a Box. Give a Free Box.” sticker on them. This has a unique code on it that you can enter only to give an e-card and mail a coupon for a free box of Cheerios™ to a recipient of your choice! What a great way to enjoy the delicious taste of Cheerios™ for yourself and give a box to someone you care about.
Our church’s food pantry is always looking for donations so I decided to purchase a few boxes of Multi-Grain Cheerios™ to give. I also purchased a couple boxes to give to a local family who is going through some hardships. It feels so great to be able to give to people who need it. The recipients can now give back as well with the Buy a Box. Gift a Free Box. code! What a great snowball affect of giving!
To make something fun to go along with the Cheerios™, I decided to make some yummy peanut butter, honey, and Cheerios™ bars! They are super easy to make and delicious! They are perfect for breakfast or for a snack anytime. The recipients of the boxes of Cheerios™ I purchased loved these bars, and I’m sure you will too!
- 3 Cups Cheerios™
- 1 Cup Peanut Butter
- ½ Cup Honey
- Heat the peanut butter and honey in a pot over medium heat until mixed and creamy.
- Add the Cheerios™ and mix well.
- Line a pan with aluminum foil and spread the Cheerios™ mixture.
- Refrigerate for 1 hour until set.
- Cut into bars and serve!
Who are you going to donate a box of Cheerios™ to?
