John Wm. Macy’s CheeseSticks {Review}
Snacks! Whether you’re a college student, busy mom, or work in an office, we probably all have that mid-afternoon snack craving, right? Mine is usually about 3pm; long enough that lunch has settled and yet I’m still looking at a few more hours before dinner. And I like having options, as does my family, so we’ve been busy trying the John Wm. Macy’s CheeseSticks and Crisps that they offer!
About the Company
Caterer and Chef John Macy founded John Wm. Macy’s CheeseSticks in 1985 in New York City. The company’s manufacturing facility is located in Elmwood Park, New Jersey. CheeseSticks, CheeseCrisps and SweetSticks are distributed nationwide and can be found in many of the country’s finest gourmet, natural and specialty stores, supermarket chains, luxury hotels and online at cheesesticks.com
Products
They have something for everyone and every taste or craving you can imagine! Whether you like their traditional style CheeseSticks or the “cracker” style of the CheeseCrisps, or even the dessert/sweet options in the SweetSticks, you won’t be disappointed. Here are just a few of their options:
- CheeseSticks
- Original Cheddar, Cheddar & Scallion, Garlic Romano, Dijon Swiss, Melting Parmesan
- CheeseCrisps
- Asiago & Cheddar, Smoked Jalapeno, Garlic Parmesan, Melting Romano, Sesame Gruyère
- SweetSticks
- Madagascar Vanilla, Java Cinnamon, Dutch Chocolate
So I have to be honest…there wasn’t a single flavor I didn’t like! I had favorites of course like the Original Cheedar, the Asiago & Cheddar and the Dutch Chocolate…but none of the boxes lasted long in my house. Even the 6 year old was trying all the flavors to see which he wanted for his daily afternoon snack.
Plus I sent a few selections to the hospital where my husband works and needless to say, they were gone once word got around!
Review
As part of participating with the #MomBlogTourFF, I was sent an assortment box of their different product lines. I literally got to try one of each kind, and I had to guard the box under my desk until we could open them together…for work of course! Here are my thoughts about my personal favorites:
- Original Cheddar CheeseSticks: Sourdough bread with both cheddar and asiago cheeses mixed in; and they are twice baked so they end up super crunchy! While they are perfect straight from the box, I found that warmed in the oven for just a few minutes and they were an awesome snack. I also broke a few up into “croutons” for the top of my salad.
- Asiago & Cheddar CheeseCrisps: 100% Asiago and Cheddar cheese twice baked into square sourdough crackers, yes please! I loved the mild heat of the cayenne butter (don’t worry, even the child liked them) and these were great to top with salami and cheese squares. Personally, I ran a handful through the processor and used them in my meatloaf instead of regular crackers!
- Dutch Chocolate SweetSticks: I don’t care for overly sweet desserts, and these were perfect for me! Lightly sweetened dutch chocolate swirled in sourdough bread, like a straw! Whether you dip these in ice cream, pudding, peanut butter or just straight from the package, you’ll find these are a great dessert (or anytime) treat!
So whether you’re in the mood for a salty, savory, crunchy or sweet treat, be sure to check out the product lines from John Wm. Macy’s CheeseSticks today! Plus, you can connect with them on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest for the latest information.
