Thanksgiving Dessert Idea – Pecan Pie Bars #Recipe
Ingredients
For the bottom crust:
- 2 cups flour
- ⅓ cup sugar
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ¾ cup cold butter
For the filling:
- 4 large eggs
- 1 ½ cup corn syrup
- 1 ½ cup sugar
- 3 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 ½ cups chopped pecans
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 10×15 bar pan with nonstick cooking spray.
- In a food processor, add the ingredients for the bottom crust. Pulse until blended and the flour resembles coarse sand.
- Press crust mixture evenly in the bottom of the bar pan.
- Bake the crust for 20 minutes.
- Meanwhile, whisk together the eggs, corn syrup, sugar, melted butter, and vanilla in a large bowl. Stir in pecans.
- When the crust is ready, pour the pecan mixture over the hot crust.
- Return the bar pan to the oven and bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until the filling is set.
- Cool completely (overnight for best results) before slicing into bars.
Store in an airtight container between layers of parchment paper.
