Thanksgiving Dessert Idea – Pecan Pie Bars #Recipe

Ingredients

For the bottom crust:

  • 2 cups flour
  • ⅓ cup sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup cold butter

For the filling:

  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 ½ cup corn syrup
  • 1 ½ cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 ½ cups chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 10×15 bar pan with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. In a food processor, add the ingredients for the bottom crust. Pulse until blended and the flour resembles coarse sand.
  3. Press crust mixture evenly in the bottom of the bar pan. 
  4. Bake the crust for 20 minutes.
  5. Meanwhile, whisk together the eggs, corn syrup, sugar, melted butter, and vanilla in a large bowl. Stir in pecans.
  6. When the crust is ready, pour the pecan mixture over the hot crust.
  7. Return the bar pan to the oven and bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until the filling is set.
  8. Cool completely (overnight for best results) before slicing into bars. 

Store in an airtight container between layers of parchment paper.
