We all know the importance of having more sustainable products in our lives, but being environmentally friendly should form a key part of our day-to-day existence. Ensuring you are more environmentally friendly is about having a number of habits and attitudes to ensure that you can help your life and everybody’s lives around you. Here’s a few simple ways to be more environmentally friendly in your day-to-day life:

Finding More Appropriate Ways to Travel

We know that we should be investing in electric vehicles or, at the very least, hybrid ones, but if you are someone that can’t live without your car and it’s physically impossible for you to cycle everywhere, you’ve got to find the right go-between. This is where vehicles like Segways or Onewheel Boards can help to start turning the tides. Onewheel Boards, in particular, are a great tool that you could benefit from.

This “Future Motion Inc’s Onewheel Boards Will Always Be Made in America” article could give you a bit more information about this. When we find more appropriate ways to travel based on our lifestyle, we can start to slowly change our attitudes and benefit the planet at the same time.

Become More Self-Sufficient

There are so many different ways that we can do this. One of the best approaches that can make lasting changes in our lives is to start growing our own food. Lots of people like the idea of growing fruits and vegetables in their gardens, but we have to remember that it’s not just about having these in our lives- we need to make sure we have all the appropriate nutrients. It might be worth investing in a chicken. It’s something that isn’t to everybody’s taste, but when you start to think about how many eggs a chicken can lay, it can be an invaluable part of your approach to creating a more self-sufficient lifestyle without needing to go to the store.

Likewise, eating less meat is something that we could all do to slow down global warming. There are also other ways to become more self-sufficient, for example, in the clothes that you own. Rather than opting for fast fashion, instead thinking about embodying the “make do and mend” approach if you get a hole in your shirt can help you to be more self-sufficient, which will do wonders for your state of mind. We spend a lot of money and resources relying on other people and services to do things for us when, in fact, we could take the power back.

Simplify Your Purchasing

If you compare life now to the way life was say, 50 or 60 years ago, the one thing that has made significant changes to our entire lives is the concept of consumerism. Your closets and lofts are cluttered with things you don’t use or even things you don’t like.

The best and most effective solution is to stop shopping for mindless products and only get the things you need. When you start to apply this logic to every part of your life, it’s not just going to benefit the planet, but it will benefit your purse strings as well.
