Interview with Director Steven Spielberg and Star Ruby Barnhill of Disney’s New Movie The BFG #TheBFGEvent
Ever since I was a child in the 80’s and watched E.T., I have been a fond fan of Mr. Steven Spielberg. Even today, I would have never dreamed I would have the chance to actually meet him and discuss with him the details of his very first collaboration with Disney in the film, The BFG, based upon the novel by Roald Dahl.
My Gigantic Trip to the Red Carpet Premiere of Disney’s THE BFG – In Theaters Everywhere July 1st #TheBFGEvent
This week I had the amazing opportunity to head out to Los Angeles, CA for a few days and attend the red carpet premiere of Disney’s The BFG starring Mark Rylance (The BFG) and Ruby Barnhill (Sophie) and directed by Steven Spielberg (Bridge of Spies). Lined along the streets of Hollywood Boulevard, in front of the historical El Capitan Theatre, fans and press from everywhere came to see Steven Spielberg’s first film with Disney, The BFG, starring Academy Award winner Mark Rylance, Ruby Barnhill, Penelope Wilton, Jemaine Clement, Rebecca Hall, Bill Hader and other celebrity guests. Disney’s The BFG, which premiered to one of the longest standing ovations at the recent Cannes Film Festival, is based on the beloved Roald Dahl book, it tells the imaginative story of a young girl, Sophie and the giant who introduces her to the wonders and perils of Giant Country. We started out at The Hard Rock Cafe to get a bite to eat before the premiere of the movie began. The scenery was amazing and people were coming and going in anticipation of the movie premiere at the El Capitan Theatre. The real excitement was outside where there were tons of press and celebrities coming to watch the premiere. Even in the intense heat (100 degrees), everyone was dressed up, chatting and having an amazing time on the red carpet. They even had props and activities you can enjoy and take in. My personal favorite was trying to lift The BFG’s bag of dreams.
I am heading to LA in just over a week to walk the red carpet with some of the cast and crew from Disney’s newest release, “The BFG”! Based upon the classic novel written by Roald Dahl, this movie is directed by Steven Spielberg and introduces us to the world of a friendly giant with an even bigger, friendlier heart.
