Effortless Ways to Decorate Your Child’s Bedroom

Decorating, and redecorating rooms for children can be tiresome. As they grow up, their tastes change and adapt, and so, it seems like every other week they say they hate the color of their bedroom walls or no longer like their Elsa from Frozen comforter set; instead, their favorite Disney character is now Moana.

Over time, this can become quite a tedious process. You want to give your children the room of their dreams; after all, it’s their own personal space and everything one should have a room they absolutely adore, but it’s time-consuming and sometimes, all their whims can become costly

If your child desperately wants to redecorate their room, but you lack inspiration and energy, here are some easy ways to freshen up your child’s room without too much effort.

New Bedding

New sheets, covers and pillow cases can vastly change your child’s room. They also don’t have to be incredibly expensive. Children will usually want a character or themed comforter sets, and so the material doesn’t need to be considered too much; however, you’ll still want to equip your child with a comfortable set of bedding.

Finding the perfect bedding doesn’t have to be a lengthy process, or take great amounts of effort. In fact, you can find the perfect bedding online: the ordeal is over after a click of a button. Make sure to include your child in the process, and so, if your child likes motorbikes, sit them down and let them scroll through sites such as VisionBedding, which sell motocross themed bedding as well as animal or nature themed bedding.

Artwork

The great thing about artwork is that you can express your likes and interests easily. What puts the cherry on top of the ice cream, though, is that if you buy posters and frame them, they can be both visually charming (without the messy teenage Blu-Tack), as well as easily replaceable. Every time your child has a new favorite show, band, crush, you can buy a new poster for a few dollars and slide it into the framing; erasing whatever hung there before. You could also encourage your child to create their own artwork and use it as a means of self-expression. Hanging their artwork is extremely life-affirming. This is also a great tactic to stop your child pinning, taping or tacking posters from magazines without your permission, and ruining your walls.

Add Personalization

The reason why children tire from their bedrooms, is because they usually base their decorations around popular movie and TV characters or their current favorite animal and color. You need to add quirky and personal objects into their rooms, otherwise, you’ll be caught going around in circles. Therefore, if you know your child loves the color blue but all their friends say purple is all the rage, then speak to your child about how in the long run, they’d probably prefer the blue paint/rug/bedding instead.

Of course, ultimately, it is your child’s decision. Growing up can be tough, so, if they want the Harry Potter themed rug even though they’re not the biggest fan, then you should let them have it. You should let them know, though, that having a unique room is far cooler than everything else.
